Built to Spill are one of my most treasured bands. I've been obsessed with their guitar sounds since I was given a copy of their Live album back in 2001/2002ish. I managed to see them when they played with Dinosaur Jr in Newcastle in 2010, which was a bucket-list band double-header for me!
I was addicted to playing guitar back then, I wasn't very good but I found photography was much more, my liking. Being able to see these gents at such close proximity, i nerded out! Lots of pedalboard close-ups here as I was right next to Jim Roth's feet. One of the charms of the Brudenell, the band is right there with you!
These were edited for my old website, and restored from a backup drive I recently found. I really like these photos! Hope you do too
Shot on a Canon 5d mkiii. Not sure of the lens, exif data only shows it was a 50mm no serial data. I was using some cheapo lenses when I travelled around this time. If it's one of those I'm impressed with it's results!
