MOGWAI + FOREST SWORDS | Paisley Town Hall | 12th FEb 2026
Mogwai just happened to be playing the first show of their UK tour, while I was on holiday in Scotland. It was a no-brainer, I had to go! Plus, a great excuse to finally visit Paisley, which was really nice.
I went as a punter, but (as always) I couldn't resist a couple of quick photos! Apologies, I have no idea what I was thinking with my settings on this night, just throwing my camera up blindly, but quickly, so not to annoy anyone, and as a result, most of these are terrible, but I still kinda like their gritty/noisy/messiness. The light show was just fantastic but these shots don't do it justice.
I did really enjoy being in the crowd and not having to worry about taking my full camera kit and getting press credentials. I just wanted to rock out to one of my fave bands. Which is exactly what I did! Their set was quite heavy, with a wonderful mix from across their back catalogue.
Forest Swords opened the evening with a mesmerising set, with appropriate out-of-this-world lighting and smoke!
My first gig of 2026, and it'll be a tough one to follow! This also marked my tenth time seeing the 'Gwai. I am very much looking forward to seeing both these bands again at Gateshead next week.
