The Twilight Sad - 16th June 2018 - Leeds Brudenell Social Club

Great to see the band back in action and on top form too. Everything was just perfect. The sound mix was stunning (maybe the best I've ever heard them!). A huge turnout, with fans travelling from all over Europe and the UK to see them. It's great to see a band grow the good old-fashioned way, hard graft and amazing music!

The last time I saw them at the Brudenell was in 2014 in the main room. The venue was about two-thirds full for the Fourteen Autumns show, since then they've toured the world with the Cure. Four years on they return to the new bigger room at the Brudenell and sell it out!

The new drummer is no slouch, adding some quite ferocious drumming to the mix. The new material is really REALLY strong and of course, their tribute to Scott Hutchison had most of the venue in tears, myself included. Keep Yourself Warm is a tough song to nail and they did themselves proud. I will remember this gig fondly for years to come. I can't wait for more Sad gigs.
