THE TWILIGHT SAD | Split Festival Sunderland 10th August 2014
The Twilight Sad headed to Split Festival in Sunderland, where they played my fave LP Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters in full!
It was fantastic, I’d seen them play the album at the Brudenell a few months earlier and I expected they’d just do a festival set, so this was a massive treat! If I’m honest TTS being on the bill was the only reason I applied for a press pass. Of course, they were my band of the festival. I’m biased as hell 💜 I wish Split Festival was still going, it had a fantastic mix of bands. I spent most of my time in this tent Gruff Rhys and Bad Breeding also blew my mind!
It was a tough one to photo, I was using a Canon 7d at the time which frankly wasn’t cutting it in super dark venues, I ended up selling it not long after this. Then these strobes starting firing with the smoke machines and I bagged some lucky shots. One of which I still have framed 🙌
